Broken Bow Cabin Lodging is co-owned by Rustin (Rusty) Wheeler and Karen Wheeler.  Our mother and son team work together to provide superior service for cabin owners as well as our guests. Both Rusty and Karen live in the Hochatown area.

Our Success Story

Hi!  My name is Karen Wheeler founder of Broken Bow Cabin Lodging.  I’d like to share the history of our company. My journey to become an Innkeeper.

January 2006 our website went live for the first time.  Over the years we’ve experienced much growth many changes.  BBCL began with 3 cabins therefore I was involved in every aspect of the cabin business. Reservations, billing, accounting, phones, guest services, cleaning and even maintenance! Additionally I was involved with drawing plans, cabin design and setting up cabins for rental. Needless to say, many hours were spent learning the management business.  A lot of trials, a lot of errors, all of which led to a lot of growth and knowledge of property management.

In 2008 the company grew to a point I needed help. Office staff was employed and office space was rented.  The company continued to grow. May of 2010 we moved into our newly built office building in Hochatown. Also at that time we invested in an advanced accounting and reservation system.  We couldn’t keep up with excel spreadsheets. This was a major transition for BBCL.

Rusty Joins the Team!

At this point Rusty “officially” joined the team. Having graduated from OSU in 2003 with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing, he moved to Charlotte, NC.  Fortunately, after the company was founded, he was able to work from Charlotte assisting me with accounting, reports, reservations etc.  Then slowly he began to spend more time in Hochatown learning the business of Broken Bow Cabin Lodging.  Finally he gave in an realized BBCL was his destiny. Rusty took over operations December of 2015. Since that time, as a result of his innovative visions, the company size has doubled.

In 2018 we bought a much larger office to accommodate the growth of the last three years and to allow for future growth. Not only do we have a much larger office building, we now have a 2400 sq ft maintenance building. All this is so we can provide the maximum service to our owners and guests. As history repeats itself,  we also upgraded our accounting and reservation system to a more advanced system and call center. It was hard for me to relinquish the reigns, but it’s the best thing I’ve done! Broken Bow Cabin Lodging now has youthful energy and experienced wisdom!

BBCL offers competitive management rates with superior service. Our company has the tools and experience needed to produce successful rentals. Above all, property management is our ONLY business!

Currently we employ 2 full time reservationist, an accounting clerk, office manager, maintenance manager, 6 maintenance specialists, 2 housekeeping leads, 3 housekeeping inspectors, a linen clerk and many housekeeping specialist. Plus Rusty and Karen. We offer our employees insurance of which we pay 1/2 of the premium. Our employees are the back bone of our company.  We are a team, a large team!
